The history of Expert T’s goes back over 25 years to 1995. Annie Gerig started a little shop on Buckeye & Liberty and they called it The Transfer Station. Here, you could pick a design off the wall and they would press it to a shirt of your choosing. You remember that kind of shop! They were prevalent in shopping malls and county fairs across the land! Annie
was an innovator bringing that service to her small town where folks wouldn’t have to travel far to get a fun T-Shirt for themselves or as a gift.

As the business grew, Annie decided it was time to go a little bigger and joined forces with JoAnn Sommers, a master embroiderer, and they moved their little business to South Market Street. In a contest run in The Daily Record, they renamed their shop “Expert T’s” - a fine name for a business that offered expert advice in decorated apparel. A BIG SHOUT out to Daphne Ross of Just Enough Antiques in Smithville for coming up with the most clever name. It clearly stuck and no one has any intention of changing it!

In 2007, Annie and JoAnn decided it was time to change careers and in April of that year, Joe & Jodi Kennedy purchased the business. JoAnn decided to stay on and run the embroidery department, while Joe and Jodi worked hard to strategize on how to grow the business and at the same time, carry on the same unique, one piece at a time service that Annie & JoAnn offered to the community.

Historic Downtown Wooster found itself in an economic and development explosion at the same time Expert T’s was finding it’s footing. Forced to move to the corner of Market & South St. to help make room for City Square Steakhouse and yet again in 2010, due to the sale of the Big Picture Theater building. It was decided right then that it was necessary to purchase a building and invest in Expert T’s and the Wooster community. 221 Beall Avenue became the final home (for now) to focus on branding and marketing the business. As difficult as it seemed, each move captured new attention and spurred new growth.

Expert T’s has morphed in 10 short years from a small transfer shop into a full service graphics, printing, marketing and embroidery operation with 4 locations in Wooster, Orrville, Wadsworth, and Seville.

Expert T’s offers a wide variety of services: Screen printing, Embroidery and all thing apparel decoration while Pink Tomato/Wooster Marketing covers Marketing, Design, Promotional Products and specializes in Wedding services. At any time you can stop into any of our locations and watch the production on various jobs and printing methods. Joe & Jodi are constantly re-investing in Expert T’s always adding new equipment, methods, and exciting fun options to offer their customers.

Joe & Jodi Kennedy came to Expert T’s with over 12 years of experience in the Screen printing and Embroidery business having owned and operated a large wholesale embroidery company in South Florida that serviced the tourist and souvenir industry.

Joe was born and raised in South Florida and had worked in the printing business when he met Jodi. Jodi, an Ohio native raised in the Akron area, moved to Florida in 1993 with her employer, International Seaway Trading Corp. They moved back to Ohio with their son Thom in 2005. She worked for them for over 25 years in the footwear industry and “retired” in 2016 to become a full-time partner in Expert T’s. Jodi also owns and operates Pink Tomato Creative, a custom wedding invitation design studio, and Wooster Marketing, a graphics and marketing business.

Joe & Jodi have 3 boys, 2 dogs and live on a mini-farm just south of Wooster.

“We love that we decided to put our roots in Wooster. This is an amazing community with amazing people and we’re proud to call Wooster our home.”
