Other attractions that take place after Santa arrives include:

  • Horse-drawn carriage rides (in front of Wayne Savings on N Market)
  • Toy Train Rides (in front of RE/MAX on W Liberty)
  • Live Reindeer (in front of Liberty Commons on E Market)

Join us on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 3 - 9:00 PM as we celebrate the Holiday Season in Downtown Wooster!

The highlights of the evening’s program include the lighting of the Children’s Tree on Public Square and, of course, the appearance of Santa.

Santa will make his descent from the rooftop of The Briggs & Starr Building at Public Square (with assistance from the Wooster Fire Department), following a musical program at 7 p.m. which will feature Summer Stage Wooster. Some very special elves – the College of Wooster Cheerleaders will be assisting Santa this year.

In addition, there are free horse-drawn wagon rides, courtesy of Wayne Savings and Spring Mist Farms of Brunswick Hills, and two very live reindeer, which are sponsored by The Commercial & Savings Bank. Children can have their pictures taken with Santa at the pavilion. Throughout downtown, you can get a cup of hot chocolate, coffee, hot apple cider, and Lerch’s Donuts at Wayne Savings! There’s ornament making, plenty of music & open houses at most of the stores – not to mention an excellent time to begin your holiday shopping!

This is our third year of the Great Elf Scavenger Hunt! Be sure to grab a passport at participating locations and begin the self-guided tour of Downtown Wooster to spot these mischievous elves. Return your passport to the Main Street Wooster Office for a chance to win great prizes featuring local merchandise and Downtown Dollars. Thank you to the Apple Creek Banking Company for sponsoring our Elf Scavenger Hunt.

Be sure to look at the windows that have been beautifully decorated by downtown merchants. Special thanks to, MCTV, WQKT & WKVX, & The Wooster Weekly News for donating advertising prize packages for the window contest!
